Fundação Príncipe is a non-profit non-governmental organization. Since 2015, it has been working in partnership with regional authorities to complete the knowledge gaps in the Príncipe's biodiversity. The Fundação Príncipe is committed to involving local communities in the protection and conservation of the island's ecosystems, enhancing their economic and social development, and the training and qualification of its staff.

PEDRO MENDES . In support of scientific and artistic divulgation

​

Pedro is an innate illustrator with a solid background in drawing, painting and visual communication; he is also a professor of observation drawing, at IADE. He is a member of the Gorongosa Friends Group (Grupo de Amigos da Gorongosa - GAG), of Mozambique, and the “Grupo do Risco”, which aims to promote and disseminate environmental values through artistic expression, namely scientific illustration, having travelled with this last group by the Amazon, the Laurissilva forest, Morocco, Prince Island and other special places. He has a passion for nature and loves to travel and paint live with his watercolours. He is the author of the book “Sabu – O Tigre Pintor”, which he wrote and illustrated, as well as “O Lince Lineu”; he also illustrated other stories, such as “Há Fogo na Floresta”, by Ana Maria Magalhães and Isabel Alçada, and “Uma Ilha Levezinha”, by Estrela Matilde. Within another aspect, he also illustrated the book “Animais do Jardim Zoológico”. Its greatest ambition is to be able to shape and illustrate big ideas, preferably linked to nature and environmental education.

AEPP - MINU YIÉ . In support of project promotion and implementation

The Príncipe's Student Association in Portugal - MINU YIÉ is an independent non-profit body, representative of the students of Príncipe’s Island in Portugal, with informative, cultural and academic, non-political purposes.

It is committed, among other things, to the promotion of cultural exchanges, the cultural and scientific learning of the immigrant communities resident in Portugal, the implementation of workshops and other youth and student activities, and the promotion and dissemination of São Tomé and Príncipe's culture.
