PhD researcher at the Centre for Functional Ecology - Science for People & the Planet (CFE-UC), University of Coimbra, has been working since 1993, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture of São Tomé and Príncipe, in the ethno-pharmacological study of medicinal plants of the country. The objective of this work is to maintain the indigenous population's knowledge of traditional medicine and the sustainable use of medicinal plants, while valuing biological resources and the oral transmission of heritage, and alerting to the need for their preservation. She is currently responsible for the National Strategy for Implementation of the Nagoya Protocol in São Tomé and Príncipe.
